Sick people carried by the arms, the elevator at Capri’s Capilupi Hospital fails again
“Faulty elevator” reads a sign posted outside the’facility. This is nothing new given that the facility, which allows people to move between floors of the Capri health facility, has stopped countless times in the past as well. On a rampage are the relatives of the sick who are carried by arm, from floor to floor, to reach the analysis, radiology and specialist clinics as there is no other alternative. When it will be restored is of course unknown.
Elevator failures occur all the time despite emergency interventions for seemingly unnecessary repairs. It seems disturbing, however, that the plant, points out Giovanni D’Agata, president of the "Sportello dei Diritti” only a few hours after the repair, has again stopped for a new failure whose frequency "is not physiological". In this sense, even if the Asl has yet to renew the maintenance contract that expired months ago, in order to provide clarity, it must seek clarification from the company in charge of the interventions through the submission of a special technical report.
The intent is also to ascertain whether the “breakdowns” can be attributed to acts of vandalism or sabotage for which the intervention of law enforcement authorities would be necessary.
