Canary, how to prepare it
The Christmas binges have passed, but it can always happen that, after a more challenging meal, one has difficulty digesting. As usual, there are several home and grandmother’s remedies that can be used in case of poor digestion or when suffering from stomach ache. Poor digestion is also often caused by stress, the disease of the third millennium.
One of the most effective is the Canary
One of the most effective is the Canary, A digestive drink whose yellow color refers to the famous yellow-colored bird. The digestive can be easily prepared at home to end one’s discomfort, using a few simple ingredients that one surely already has in the pantry and in very few minutes.
- a glass of water
- a lemon (preferably organic)
- 2 bay leaves
First, wash the lemon and remove the peel (being careful to avoid the white part, which is bitter), helping yourself with a peeler. Boil a cup of water and, as soon as it becomes boiling, add the resulting lemon zest and the two bay leaves.
At this point, cover the container and let it steep for about 10 minutes.
Then strain through a strainer and place in a cup: the drink should be drunk as soon as it is ready to find immediate relief.
Its mild taste means that it can be drunk willingly.
Those who wish, to make the Canary even more effective, can add a teaspoon of baking soda (known to aid digestion) to the preparation. In this case, of course, the flavor will vary slightly and will be a little less palatable but sure to have an effect on poor digestion.
Alternatively, you can sweeten the drink with a little honey or stevia.
For those who do not like the taste of laurel, its leaves can be substituted with those of mint or sage. It should be mentioned that Canary can not be stored and therefore should be consumed as soon as ready.
